Coffee Buyer & Logistics Coordinator
About the role
As Coffee Buyer & Logistics Coordinator, you'll lead Origin's green coffee procurement - keeping the right coffee flowing into our warehouse at the right time, and ensuring the numbers behind every shipment are accurate and well managed. You'll combine strong organisational instincts with a sharp eye for detail to support the buying decisions that shape what we roast.
You'll report into the Director of Coffee, responsible for procurement, inventory, and import logistics. You'll also act as a critical bridge between the Coffee and Finance departments - making sure payment timings, landing schedules, and green coffee costs are always in sync and supporting our margin and cash flow goals.
What you'll do
Procurement and inventory
Record and maintain coffee contracts, covering pricing basis, fixing status, delivery windows, and payment terms.
Support the Head of Coffee in contract confirmations.
Track market-priced contracts, flagging fixing deadlines, and provisional pricing windows before they become time-sensitive.
Monitor FX rates daily and alert the Head of Coffee and finance when rates reach agreed trigger levels.
Bridge between Coffee and Finance - sharing payment due dates, landing schedules, and following up on any outstanding payment confirmations.
Margin monitoring and communicating across finance and commercial any future risks, opportunities to our green coffee margin
Maintain accurate inventory records across all warehouse locations, tracking landed stock, usage, incoming shipments, and forward cover.
Working with Head of coffee in maintaining pipeline and supporting forward forecasting to model consumption, identify supply gaps, and optimise stock levels.
Gather onboarding documentation for new producers as part of Origin’s sourcing due diligence process.
Import & Logistics
Manage day-to-day communications with freight forwarders, shipping agents, and customs brokers.
Coordinate with logistic partners in moving containers domestically and internationally.
Track inbound green coffee shipments from origin to UK warehouse, maintaining a live status log for the Coffee and Finance teams.
Prepare and process all import related documentation.
Coordinate arrivals into the company's own warehouse.

Curious about coffee trends and creative in developing new approaches.
What you'll bring
Skills & Experience
Familiar with coffee market trends, and understanding green coffee trading, or the specialty coffee supply chain.
Exposure FX rate monitoring, commodity pricing, or cost-of-goods tracking.
Experience in an administrative, operations, or coordination role — ideally in imports, logistics, supply chain, or procurement.
Knowledge of Cropster and inventory management systems.
Skilled negotiator with experience in international contracts and financial transactions.
High level of numeracy, with strong Excel and Microsoft skills.
What success looks like
Maintain the right green coffee stock levels through accurate forecasting, buying, logistics, and financial planning.
Deliver strong gross margins while reducing cost of capital.
Ensure seamless coordination between Coffee, Finance, and Logistics, with timely payments, accurate shipment tracking, and clear communication across teams.
