Purpose of the Role
As a Workshop Technician for Origin, you will play a key role in maintaining and repairing coffee equipment in our Leyton workshop. You’ll work closely with the Workshop Manager and other team members across our London, Cornwall, and Bristol locations to ensure our machines are fully operational and meet the highest standards before they are dispatched to customers or field engineers.
This role involves servicing, troubleshooting, and repairing coffee machines, managing stock and parts, and maintaining an organised and efficient workshop environment. You’ll also support field technicians remotely when required and contribute to continuous improvements in our processes.
What You’ll Do
Maintenance & Repairs
- Diagnose, repair, and service a range of speciality coffee machines and grinders, including La Marzocco, Mahlkonig E65/E80/EK, Bunn, and Marco.
- Perform planned preventative maintenance and conduct quality control checks.
- Dismantle machines for repairs, replace parts, and reassemble to ensure full functionality.
- Ensure all workshop repairs meet high-quality standards before dispatch.
Stock & Workflow Management
- Assist with stock control, ensuring the right parts and tools are always available.
- Manage the receipt and dispatch of machines and parts in the workshop.
- Maintain an organised and efficient workspace.
Technical Support & Collaboration
- Work closely with the Workshop Manager and Field Technicians to coordinate repairs.
- Provide remote technical support to field technicians when required.
- Contribute to improving workshop processes and efficiency.

Skills & Experience
- Previous experience in a technical, mechanical, or electrical repair role.
- Experience working with speciality coffee machines (preferred but not essential – training provided).
- Strong problem-solving skills with an ability to diagnose faults and repair machinery.
- Good organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise and manage workloads.
- Ability to follow technical manuals and use diagnostic tools.
- Basic knowledge of stock control and parts management.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality work.
- Practical communication skills to liaise with colleagues and managers.
